Thessaly sent me the list of books on Lincoln that she compiled from the New Yorker’s staffers, and after Team of Rivals
by Doris Kearns Goodwin, I’m going to get myself a copy of Lincoln by David Herbert Donald (1995). Thanks Thessaly!!

In this temple
As in the hearts of the people
For whom he saved the union
The memory of Abraham Lincoln
Is enshrined forever.

How about Lincoln’s Book List
Since “the Lincoln literature is infinite”, (and wikipedia agrees too “Lincoln has the most books written about him of any American, and is one of the most biographied people in the world.”), so presumably, a lot of his preferences are recorded, so it might be possible to login as abelincoln, answer on his behalf, and then find out what books he would like were he alive today.
